Crowds were ordered to leave Trafalgar Square, but many protesters refused, police said.
Some behaved in a hostile manner and there were some violent outbursts against police officers.
As a result, a total of 32 people were arrested, charged with various crimes, including violence and breach of crown rules. Two policemen suffered minor injuries.
The infection increases
The demonstrations take place after the infection has re-flourished in the UK with more than 4,000 new cases of infection registered on Friday. The number is the highest since May 8, writes Sky News.
Various venues have introduced local restrictions and Prime Minister Boris Johnson has banned more than six people from gathering for private events.
Several of the protesters held signs with them stating, among other things, that the crown pandemic is a hoax, while also accusing British authorities of hiding the truth.
Very high fines
At the same time that the infection increases at an accelerating rate, the authorities have announced new rules regarding isolation if infected.
As of September 28, all infected people must isolate themselves. In the event of non-compliance with the rules, a fine of £ 1,000 will be imposed, or approximately NOK 11,000. If the rule is broken multiple times, the fine will increase to 10,000 pounds, which is equivalent to more than 100,000 NOK.
