In the last 24 hours, the number of new infection cases in Bergen has increased again.
– It’s natural with some variations from day to day, says Councilor Roger Valhammer.
The municipality believes that most of the new cases are close contacts or household members of previously infected people. Therefore, many are already in quarantine.
– The current number of new infections is high, but they are part of the expected fluctuations. High numbers on individual days may still mean that the trend may go in the right direction, says Valhammer.
Sprouts appear at school
Four students from Åsane Upper Secondary School have been diagnosed with corona in the last 24 hours.
Nakstad is more concerned about the spread of the infection in Oslo than in Bergen
– We have registered four new infections in Åsane upper secondary school, that is to say, a small local outbreak, says the head of infection control in the municipality of Bergen, Karina Koller Løland.
She believes that in the coming days more cases of infection can be expected to be discovered at school.
The municipality is now working on infection detection and will attempt to contact all close contacts over the weekend.
Infection among vulnerable groups
The infection has been registered with a Gartnermarken Care Plus Housing resident.
An employee of a Bergen nursing home has also been diagnosed with corona.
