US President Donald Trump has criticized FBI Director Christopher Wray for singling out Russia and right-wing militia groups threatening the elections.
Trump believes Wray should target China and leftist groups when he was in Congress on Thursday.
– I didn’t like your answers yesterday. I don’t know if he didn’t like them either. “I’m sure you probably agree with me,” Trump said.
– China is obviously at the top of the list. I see that you can talk about Russia, North Korea and many other countries. But China must be at the top of that list, so I don’t know why it wasn’t mentioned, he added.
When asked if he is considering firing Wray, Trump responded that “we are considering a lot of different options.”
The president also attacked Wray’s assessment that there are groups that follow the doctrine of the superiority of the white race, which is the greatest threat of violence in an America already characterized by high tension.
“Among the extremists motivated by racism, there are people who believe in a kind of ideology of white supremacy, which is by far the largest proportion,” Wray told Congress.
Trump, who has broad support among right-wing armed militia groups and the conspiratorial QAnon movement, says Wray should target Antifa.
Antifa is a poorly formed left-wing movement that Trump has repeatedly focused on after occasionally violent demonstrations against institutional racism and police violence in the United States.
– Scary. And when you don’t say it, it bothers me. “I wonder why he doesn’t say that,” Trump said, referring to the FBI chief.
