A tree fell and hit a person in Slottsparken, but also in Frognerparken, a tree must have tipped over on a person. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute reports a valid yellow hazard warning for Innlandet, Viken, Oslo and Vestfold.

The castle now asks people to avoid Slottsparken until the wind has died down. Dronningparken is closed the rest of the day.

– Due to strong gusts of wind, we advise all Slottsparken users to avoid passing until the wind has died down. Queen’s Park will be closed during the day, it says at kongehuset.no.

A tree fell in Slottsparken and some are said to have been injured, the fire department wrote on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

– There are a couple of large trees that have overturned, we think it is due to the wind. One person was slightly injured and was taken to the emergency room. He was injured next to him, so he probably ran over it, emergency manager Tor Imerslund told VG.

On Wednesday morning, the Meteorological Institute announced on Twitter about the danger of the wind in eastern Norway.

– Secure loose objects and follow the messages of the transport operators, it says in the message.

Also in Frogner, a tree must have fallen on a person, confirms Guro Birkeland Tangen, a communications consultant for the urban environment agency.

– We have been notified that a tree has fallen on a person in Frognerbekkdalen, which is part of the Frognerparken between Drammensveien and Halvdan Svartes gate. We still don’t know more about the state of the tree, writes Birkeland Tangen in an email to VG.

In the parks managed by the Urban Environment Agency, the health status of the trees is checked, where the purpose is to reduce the risk, both in the parks and in the urban space otherwise.

– There may be a break due to the wind, and today there was a warning of a small storm at lunchtime, he writes.

Operations manager Tor Gulbrandsen in the Oslo police district says three capsized on a road at Jansløkka in Asker around 3pm on Wednesday.

– A tree fell across the road blocking traffic and cutting a phone line. The road was cleared and the municipality was notified about the phone line, and bike lanes and trails must also be cleared, he says.

In addition, the police also recently received a report of a tree in danger of falling at Lambertseter in Oslo, but Gulbrandsen could not say anything more yet.

In addition, the Urban Environment Agency encourages visitors to parks and urban spaces:

– It blows a lot, so we encourage people to be a little more careful when they move you both to the field and to the park on days like this. Old trees can lose branches and even trees can fall even if this is not common, so do not hesitate to follow the weather forecast.

According to Birkeland Tangen, the urban environment agency has cleaning routines. They assess whether the condition of the tree represents a hazard and take the necessary measures. This can create obstacles in certain areas.

– If people discover fallen branches of trees that belong to our parks or streets, it is good that they report it.
