A man who was found dead Sunday had an autopsy and traces of methanol were found on his body. This is stated by the police in a press release tonight.
Police say the cause of death is not certain, but he has stayed in the same place as the person who was treated for methanol poisoning at the hospital this weekend.

– Information emerged that there was a relationship between the deceased and the person who was being treated at Ullevål hospital. They had been together in an apartment on Friday afternoon and evening, Anne Alræk Solem, head of the homicide investigation section in the Oslo police district, tells NRK.
The person who was hospitalized arrived seriously injured, but should be on the road to recovery, according to police.
Four people drank together
– We have worked intensively with the collection of information and have discovered that there are four people who have drunk alcohol together on Friday. We have contacted one of the last two. The person has been warned today and put in contact with the health service so that the person in question can be examined and receive medical follow-up, says Solem.
Police are working to contact the last of the four reunited.
– Therefore, we are investigating whether two more people may have ingested methanol, says Solem.
Additionally, police are working to find out who produced the methanol.
– We want to know where the alcohol comes from and we work intensely with that, says Solem.
Warns against buying “unknown” alcohol
Police say they come out with this information to prevent others from being harmed by the dangerous alcohol that contains methanol.
“The police strongly warn the public against buying alcohol and alcohol from illegal dealers or individuals. If alcohol is added to methanol, it can be fatal,” they write in the press release.
– We emphasize that the poisoning is linked to an incident. Police do not have information on further incidents, but will report because we fear there may be more alcohol with methanol in circulation.
