The crown alarm sounded and Jostein Helgeland knew that time was short. By every minute, the possibility of the virus spreading uncontrollably in the local community increased.

Infection was detected among young adults. They often have large social media, but may have few corona symptoms. Therefore, the risk of infection was high.

Sample after sample was sent in for analysis, but there was a problem: It took several days before they received the responses.

The experiences of the eruption in July and August make the Haugesund municipal chief think that there must be new national guidelines. Samples that are important to clear during an outbreak must be able to be treated urgently. When it really mattered this summer, he experienced that the municipality ended up at the bottom of the queue.
