Western police confirm that they see a connection between Daniel Færøykavlen and Idar Vollvik. The two are linked through seizures made by the police.

On Sunday, VG wrote about Daniel Færøykavlen, 26, of Lyngdal, who has caused a stir in the sale of infection control equipment during the crown crisis. It was Færøykavlen who chartered a private plane that was stopped by the police in Flesland.

Idar Vollvik (52) has also invested heavily in the sale of infection control equipment. Færøykavlen has confirmed to VG that the two have business connections.

In early September, Idar Vollvik was charged with intentionally wearing a mask.

The two actors are now linked by the police. Both are linked to seizures made in the case:

I can confirm that the police see a link between Vollvik and Færøykavlen, and that there is a link between them and parts of the seizures we have taken in the case, says the prosecutor in the case, Sigrid Sulland, to VG.

Seized in eastern Norway

According to Sulland, in recent weeks there have been several new seizures in the case from various directions. VG has received information that a farm in Sarpsborg has been seized, which Sulland confirms.

The West Police District has received assistance from the East Police District in the case, Sulland confirms.

It further confirms that the seizure is related to the Vollvik case.

– For practical reasons, some of these nozzles are still in Sarpsborg, says Sulland.

Sulland will not confirm which seizure connects Vollvik and Færøykavlen, but it does confirm that police see a connection between these two people.

– Can you say something about what the contact between them is about, is it about infection control teams?

– It is quite obvious that we think they have had contact about it, says Sulland.

Both Idar Vollvik and his wife Anita Vollvik are charged with violating the Medical Equipment Act (see fact box). Both deny criminal guilt.

Færøykavlen: Nothing to do with this

Daniel Færøykavlen (26) says it has nothing to do with the prosecution or the seizures in the Vollvik case.

Færøykavlen is the owner and CEO of Dafa Group AS.

In 2018, he was sentenced to one year in prison for money laundering and cure in connection with the so-called “breaking bad” case in Sørlandet.

– Has it nothing to do with the bandages now seized by the police?

– Not at all.

– I don’t understand why you should write an article about it. I have nothing to do with it, he tells VG.

VG has previously written that Daniel Færøykavlen bought bandages from Idar Vollvik and sold them to municipalities and private actors.

Sulland has previously confirmed to VG that Færøykavlen has been questioned in connection with the Vollvik indictment.

– We probably want to question Færøykavlen again. But we don’t want to go out with what we see as connections and what questions we have for them, Sulland told VG last week.

– We can confirm that it has appeared and that there is a contact between these people and those companies. He has the status of witness in our case.

Police believe Idar Vollvik has marked and packaged face masks in Norway

Vollvik lawyer: – Very unfortunate.

In the last week, VG has repeatedly sent questions to Vollvik. He has not responded to our questions, but writes in an email to VG on Tuesday afternoon:

“My employees have returned a batch of products that we were not happy with. I have no knowledge of where it was stored and what happened to this shipment.”

His attorney, Arild Dyngeland, from the Schjødt law firm, tells VG that he has not learned of the seizure or Vollvik’s connection to Daniel Færøykavlen:

– I observe that the police disseminate information related to the charge, which surprises me very much. I don’t know the content of what you’re saying, says Dyngeland.

– This is a very unfortunate way to conduct an investigation.

Vollvik’s mask stopped, again

On Monday, police came out in a press release, saying that several of the sanitary pads that have now been tested are of better quality than previously feared.

The tests, which were conducted by FFI (the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment), show that the six sanitary napkins tested have a so-called 98 percent bacterial leakage effect.

In the press release, the police write that only a small selection of masks have been tested and is therefore not representative of the total number of masks seized.

– Both the police and the Norwegian Medicines Agency have probably had good intentions, but I am glad they were wrong, Vollvik told TV 2 in relation to the new test results.
