Støre opened his important speech by quoting a verse from a song: “Now it applies much more than before.”
– Incredibly big tasks will demand us in the future, says Støre.
Today he made three promises to voters, who will be included in the party’s program to be presented next week.
– We will guarantee safe work for everyone. We will ensure a welfare state that is there when you need it and implement a fair climate policy that cuts emissions, the Labor leader promises.

In his speech to the national government, Støre also gave a clear message to his party colleagues to join the ranks and join at the beginning of the long election campaign.
– Cohesion and focus on politics. That is what they expect of us now across the country. It can’t be anything else, says Støre.

– In our party many fires are burning. You can burn or heat it. I have burned myself many times. But okay, I’d rather be here 10,000 times than in a wealth tax-obsessed party, Støre said with a kick to the Conservatives.
Will walk away from personal struggles
After last week’s historically weak poll, Støre will focus on politics and move away from personal struggles in his own ranks.
The national board meeting comes just weeks after the county’s heartbreaking annual meeting in the Trøndelag Labor Party and the report of concern that outgoing parliamentary representative Arild Grande subsequently delivered to the party office.
He denies that there is a special episode he refers to when he says that he too has been burned.
– No, it is not a special episode for anyone, but when you meet someone with a great commitment, it may shine a little. But I’d rather have it than something flat, and then there’s a lot to warm up, says the Labor leader.

At the central board meeting last Monday, it was decided to make changes to the guidelines for sexual harassment.
Arild Grande has come out publicly and demanded a review of the party’s culture and guidelines.
Among other things, there will now be a requirement that the AUF participate in discussions on how young people are cared for prior to major match events. In addition, all shop stewards must be trained in the prevention and management of sexual harassment and a written guide to good leadership and behavior will be distributed to all who hold leadership positions in the party.

The main part of the speech, on the other hand, is not about party culture, but about the next party program that the Labor Party will adopt at the national meeting next spring.
– Now we see that the government is in favor of cuts, divisions and privatizations zone after zone. We don’t think this is the best way to prepare for the future. We want everyone to have equal access to safe wellness services, regardless of address and wallet size, says Støre.
According to Støre, the Labor Party will implement a trust reform.
– All the good professionals who work in our public sector, people with competence and knowledge, but who are increasingly affected by regulations and standards. We have to take responsibility for something, but we have to see that a lot of this does not work, he says.
– Work and weather are connected. It will be an important message for us, says Støre.
– We need to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and we need a major restructuring to achieve our climate goals. Norway has opportunities to achieve both. But today development is too slow. We do not believe in the government’s belief that markets will settle on their own.
Long awaited
According to what Dagbladet understands, the party expects a clear party program that can give the party’s union delegates a long-awaited opportunity to discuss politics next year.
The Conservatives recently presented their first draft of the party program. Political commentators consider the program moderate, deliberately close to the Labor Party. A challenge for the party, which is traditionally Norway’s largest, will be to clarify the differences between her and Erna Solberg’s party.
Jonas Gahr Støre has personally led the work of the program committee, which will present its draft next week. There are many reasons to believe that some highlights here will be addressed in the speech.
