Well-known actor Rick Moranis (66) took a break when his wife died in 1991, a break that would last nearly a quarter of a century.

It was when his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, died in February 1991 of breast cancer that he decided to withdraw from the limelight. The couple had two young children, Rachel and Mitchell, and he wanted to prioritize them.

But he doesn’t regret being away from Hollywood and filming so many years.

– I do not regret at all. My life is wonderful. But I’m happy with the things I said yes to, and I’m very happy with the many things I said no to. Yes, I’m picky, he told THR five years ago.

On the shrink machine

“Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” was released in 1989, in which Moranis played a husband, father, and inventor who accidentally transforms his children and two young neighbors into miniature versions of himself.

It will be Moranis’ first major role since “Big Bully” in 1996. Moranis played investigator Wayne Szalinski in the 1989 Disney classic and its 1992 sequel “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid.” Disney has not said when the revolt will come.
