– The fine is not acceptable at all. I refuse to pay it, the man in his 20s tells Nordlys.

The Tromsø man was fined NOK 10,000 for grabbing a child on his 10th birthday.

According to the Troms Police Chief’s indictment, the incident took place this spring.

The man tells Nordlys that the incident happened when he was sitting outside with friends, and some children started throwing snowballs at them.

– I saw the boy standing behind the hedge, so I got up and put my shoes on. He started running and then fell. I grabbed it and said, “That’s what you end up with,” he says.

According to the indictment, the man in his 20s must have slapped the boy on the neck and did not let go of the roof until another adult requested it.

The man denies that this is the case and believes that the case could have been resolved well after consulting with the boy’s parents.

If the man does not pay a fine, the case ends in court. According to Nordlys, he’s determined to do that.
