The reaction of Brann’s manager during the break against Vålerenga was unmistakable.

VÅLERENGA-BRANN 5-1

INTILITY ARENA (Nettavisen): Brann suffered an ugly defeat to Vålerenga in Oslo on Sunday night.

A first half in which Brann was totally humiliated by a Vålerenga led by rookie Vidar Örn Kjartansson, who scored a hat trick in nine minutes before 25 minutes passed.

Thus, it was a very disappointed Brann coach who met the press after the game.

– The most embarrassing thing I’ve ever been through. It hurt. A horrible experience. Actually, we are a bit scared, Kåre Ingebrigtsen tells Nettavisen.

Vålerenga won in the end after three goals from Kjartansson and two goals from Osame Sahraoui.

– We are fiercely behind in defensive play and never lift the ball. We don’t follow races and it’s so easy to let goals in. I’m really a little scared, says Ingebrigtsen.

Brann already had a dangerous little chance after a few seconds into the match. Sam Adekugbe headed weakly to his own goalkeeper, but Kristoffer Klaesson got into trouble and barely won the duel with Daouda Bamba.

In the attack that followed, newcomer Henrik Bjørdal received a useful shot that was blocked to the corner.

After a new corner from Aron Dønnum Vålerenga, the net already masked after four minutes. Osame Sahraoui received credit for the goal, but goalkeeper Markus Pettersen was not very lucky in the situation.

– Pettersen’s non-competent goalie job, concluded Tor Ole Skullerud in the commentary position.

At seven minutes, it was the guests’ turn to punish the weak defensive game. A Robert Taylor post created chaos with the stud duo Jonatan Tollås Nation and Ivan Näsberg ruining the ball on a silver platter to Petter Strand. He hit the cash ball into the net and the teams were just as far behind.

Then it was time for the Kjartansson show. The Icelander scored equally well in one, two and three goals from minute 14 to 23.

Especially little midfield coach Osame Sahraoui served the striker wonderfully with several of the goals.

– It is dangerous at less than 16 meters. But that’s a shame, Brann’s stopper Vegard Forren summed up after the first 45 minutes after Kjartansson punished Bergen’s people very hard.

Eurosport commentator Tor Ole Skullerud was also unimpressed with Brann’s defensive play.

“The defensive game is under all the criticism,” he said.

The 17-year-old debuted from the start

Brann had several major losses in Sunday’s game to Ole Martin Kolskogen and Daniel Pedersen. Additionally, Fredrik Haugen, Amer Ordagic, Marcus Mehnert, Gilli Rólantsson and Taijo Teniste were not available.

Kåre Ingebrigtsen thus gave young Mikal Kvinge the opportunity from the start in midfield.

The 17-year-old made his debut with Brann in 2019 when he was 16 years old, this season he has had an entry in the first game of the series against Odd.

It was a difficult night for Kvinge and the rest of the Brann team, who ultimately lost 5-1 at Intility Arena.
