KANONHALLEN (Dagbladet): Per Sandberg took the podium at the national meeting of liberals and was greeted like a hero.
– I have done many evaluations back and forth. Should I keep having fun with Bahareh and do bar, reality show, travel here and there and have fun? Or should I make the decision to re-engage in Norwegian politics?
– As steak as I thought. My decision is that if the liberals see a touch of appeal in me, I make myself available to the liberals, says Sandberg.
Sandberg was deputy leader of Frp from 2006 to 2018 and was party leader Siv Jensen’s closest ally in the party. He also chaired the program committee for several years and was a minister in the Erna Solberg government for Frp.
– radical
Sandberg confirms to Dagbladet that he has resigned from the FRP and joined the Liberals. The Liberals are a party that advocates a sharp reduction in taxes, fees and the public sector.
– Liberals are today the only party that safeguards liberal values. This is similar to Frp in its day and very radical in some areas. These votes are needed more than ever in Norwegian politics, Per Sandberg tells Dagbladet after the speech.
He also shoots at his former party Frp.
It opens for the return
– FRP lacks liberal values. Even if they have it on paper, the party has between two or three wings. The FRP cannot focus on liberal values. Unfortunately, a large part of the FRP has a greater focus on nationalist values, says Sandberg.
– Do you want to be at the Storting?
– There are processes that should be allowed in the party, says Sandberg, who does not reject a return to Norwegian politics.
For the optimist, it is.
– I am sure that the Liberals will have their first parliamentary representatives in 2021, if you believe it. 40 percent of the Norwegian population does not vote. There are many young people who long for freedom, says Sandberg.
