The top scorer may seem to end up at RB Leipzig.

The case is being updated

Trabzonspor confirms in its websites they have received an offer from RB Leipzig for their Norwegian star Alexander Sørloth.

The Norwegian power forward is said to have had an agreement with Trabzonspor that he should return to Turkey on Friday 11 September, but should not have appeared as agreed.

The Turkish club has come out like this and has stated that the Norwegian will now be punished for it.

Pappa Sørloth confirmed the negotiations

In mid-August, Alexander Sørloth’s father, Gøran Sørloth, confirmed that his son was in negotiations with a new club.

– I see there have been some names here, but I don’t know anything other than what is mentioned that is in negotiations. It’s no secret that when you become Turkey’s top scorer, there are clubs looking for you. This is the moment. If a transition is completed, then there is nothing better than that, Father Gøran Sørloth then told Nettavisen.

Sørloth senior did not even confirm whether a transfer to Leipzig was about to be completed.

– We can only hope that something clears up in a short time, that’s what matters. There are several sides to this transition with the Crystal Palace loan through Trabzonspor and to a third club, he continued.

– When such a name appeared (like Leipzig) it was impressive and I was quite impressed. I saw his game in the Champions the other day. It’s a good football team, which is important if you want to transfer.

Rock solid season

Alexander Sørloth has had a very impressive season in Turkish football, where he became the top scorer with 24 goals in the Süper Lig and won the gold cup with Trabzonspor.

Trønderen also scored 2-0 in the cup final win over Alanyaspor. In total, he scored 33 goals in all the Turkish club’s tournaments. The league season ended with a second place behind Istanbul Başakşehir.

Premier League club Crystal Palace owns Sørloth, who was originally intended to remain on loan at Trabzons for the upcoming season as well. It was bought from the London club Danish FC Midtjylland for more than NOK 100 million in 2018.

Later it has been loaned to Ghent in Belgium and Trabzonspor.
