After more travel activity in the summer months, arrows point down at Gardermoen’s main airport.
– Layoffs will resume at the Oslo airport control tower after the summer period is over and the number of traffic has dropped again, Erik Lødding, head of strategy and public relations at Avinor Flysikring tells Romerikes Blad.
This is the second round of layoffs in the main airport tower.
– In this round, we are talking about ten employees who have received a notice of dismissal.
Lødding says the length of the announced layoffs varies somewhat, but is on average about four months.
Air traffic in August fell nearly 60 percent compared to last year. In total, the figures show a 51 percent decrease in domestic traffic and an 84 percent decrease in international traffic from Avinor airports, compared to August last year.
