A lot of rain is expected this weekend, which is why NVE has issued a warning about the danger of flooding in much of Sogn og Fjordane.
– It will now be wet and sticky in western Norway south of Stad. In some places it will be 120-140mm over the weekend, meteorologists warn on Twitter.
The danger is especially great in streams that have large streams.
Uninjured after tipping over
In Måløy, a light gale is also expected until Sunday. On Friday, a pickup truck overturned at Kråkenesfjellet in Vågsøy in Kinn municipality.
– There were two people in the car, they were unharmed and had been picked up by others. They then ordered car racks themselves, says operations manager E claim Hellesund.
The police patrol had met with the two at a store to speak with them after the incident. There is no suspicion of intoxication.
– This is a weather resistant area, and this is the first fall storm of the year, he says.
Attach loose objects
The hydrologist on duty at NVE, Thomas Væringstad, asks people to follow and secure their property.
– Follow the situation yourself, although it may be the larger waterways that are most exposed this time. But it’s wise to keep an eye on loose objects or if there are known overflow problems along waterways, he says.
Although the hazard warning is at the yellow level, which is the lowest, Væringstad says it is an indication that there will be a lot of water in some rivers.
State meteorologist Magni Svanevik confirms that it will rain heavily this weekend, and there may be torrential rains in several places in western Norway.
– We have the first round today and then it will rain during the weekend. So collect a lot of rain, up to 140mm over the weekend, he says.
There is also a hazard warning in yr.no about stiff or strong gales at various locations along the coast.
