A total of 10 people in the same household in the municipality of Ås have been diagnosed with covid-19 during Wednesday and Thursday, Ås Avis reports. (requires login).
All 10 are isolated in the house. Several other family members, who have been in close contact with those infected without being diagnosed with the infection, are in quarantine at home, municipal chief physician Sidsel Storhaug in Ås municipality informs Dagbladet.
The municipality has mapped that there should be no risk of infection beyond this home. Other municipalities with possible contacts close to the home have been notified.
One of the people from Ås’s house was at a religious meeting at Stovner in Oslo on Saturday, August 29. From the same meeting, another person tested positive. It has not been established whether the infection in Ås originates there or in public communication on the stretch, the municipal chief tells Ås Avis.
Only 46 people living in Ås have tested positive since the corona situation began in March.
– Besides the family of 10, there is only one isolated infected person in Ås. The person in question was likely infected in a so-called red country, Bangladesh, municipal chief physician Sidsel Storhaug tells Dagbladet.
