A total of 17 employees have tested positive for the outbreak at the hospital.
– Infection tracking is in progress. Patients and other employees who have been in close contact with those infected will be contacted, says communications director Erik Vigander.
According to the hospital, it seems that this will have less consequences, since several of those infected had already taken precautions.
The hospital’s director, E claim Hansen, declined to comment on which wards are in question, but has confirmed that the infection has spread to seven different wards.
At least 76 employees have been quarantined and patients who may have been in close contact with those infected are in isolation at the hospital.
– This is concerning and indicates that infection is increasing in the Bergen area. Most of the signs point to an infection coming from outside, Hansen says.
Helse Bergen reports that in the future they will update the infection figures on their websites at 10am every day.
The Bergen municipality yesterday introduced strict corona measures in an attempt to curb the infection that is now ongoing. The measures will have an initial duration of 10 days.
