Hockey powder dipped crocs are the new treat trend. Sales have completely taken off.

– Sales have doubled since it became the new trend flavor, so obviously it’s a flavor everyone has wanted to try. When sales suddenly explode like this, we cannot rule out that some stores may be empty for short periods, but we have received no comment that there are not enough products from suppliers. So the shelves continually fill up, says communications manager Harald Kristiansen at Coop to Dagbladet.

– 128 percent

Communications consultant Nora Mile Helgesen in Kiwi tells Dagbladet that they are not allowed to check the number of crocs, because this is a small loose weight good, but she says there is a significant increase in sales of hockey powder.

– From weeks 34 to 35, we had an increase of 128 percent. Sales were also very high last week. In a normal week, it is more than double, she says.

Last week, 86 Kiwi stores were empty of hockey dust.

When it comes to small items, Nidar (Coop), Candyking (Rema 1000) and Unil (Norgesgruppen) are responsible for distribution.

– We noticed a big increase in crocodile sales from Nidar’s small merchandise shelves. The combination of cute alligators covered in hockey dust seems to work well during the day. We still have several crocodiles in stock and are working to meet the demand in the future as well, says communications director Elisabeth Aandstad Ekheim at Orkla Norway.

Driving extra

Conaxess Trade Norway distributes crocodiles from Lutti and hockey powder from Grahns.

Marketing Director Henriette Dahl Kjørsvik assures Nettavisen that there are enough products in stock.

– We have Grahns, the producer of hockey powder, to increase additional shifts, to meet demand, informs Nettavisen.
