In recent weeks, some 800 cases of the coronavirus have been detected from the Lazio region to the popular holiday island of Sardinia in Italy.

The governor of the island, Christian Solinas, is not happy with the mention of Sardinia as a contagion zone and warns that he will go to court against the media for having portrayed Sardinia as the new epicenter of the country.

Until now, the area has been one of the places with the lowest number of infections and has registered approximately 2,400 infected since the March outbreak. In total, Italy has registered more than 276,000 cases.
