According to Sky News, the Duke and his three children, Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (5) and Prince Louis (2) were not at home the day the body was discovered.

Princess Eugenie (30) and her husband Jack Brooksbank (34) also have a house in the palace. However, it is not known if any other members of the royal family were at home that day.

– Police were called to Kensington Gardens at 07.09 on Saturday 29 August to investigate concerns for the safety of a woman. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Death is treated as unexplained at this time, but is not believed to be suspicious.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the dead woman was first identified as another, and the police notified the wrong family.

Wrong woman identified

Artist Endellion Lycett Green, granddaughter of former poet Sir John Betjeman, had been missing for a week before the body was found in the pond.

Police initially believed the body to be Lycett Green and thus alerted the family, according to the Daily Mail.

However, Lycett Greens appeared live later that week, her brother, John Lycett Green, announced on social media, according to the Daily Mail.

– My sister Endellion is alive and well. Thank you for all the support and love you have shown for Delli and her family, she wrote, adding:

– I feel sorry for all of you who, like us, cried Delli. They told us they had found a body and that it was her. It wasn’t, and Delli was found last night. May she who was found rest in peace.

Deaths outside Kensington Palace

According to The National, another incident took place outside Kensington Palace four years ago.

Police were then called to an area near the duke couple’s home after reports of a man behaving suspiciously.

It turned out that the man had set himself on fire. The man’s life could not be saved and he was pronounced dead half an hour after emergency services arrived at the scene.
