The case is being updated.

Police reported the case at 5 a.m. on Saturday. The two young men were sent to St. Olav Hospital with knife wounds. While the situation is unstable for the 21-year-old who is receiving treatment for serious injuries in the hospital, the 17-year-old has only minor injuries.

The 21-year-old man was found in the Møllenberg area with knife wounds to the stomach. Shortly after, the 17-year-old was found injured in the area by Solsiden, according to TV 2.

Later on Saturday he was taken to the police station and taken into custody, according to Trondheim police.

– The 17-year-old is now suspected of stabbing. He’s been sent into custody and the child welfare service is involved. Now he will be questioned, says Operations Director Viola Elvrum in the Trøndelag police district to Adresseavisen.

She confirms that a knife was seized from the 17-year-old. The 21-year-old has been given offended status in the case. So far, the police are unclear on why.

– No formal charges yet, but it is likely serious bodily injury. The 17-year-old has not been designated a defender, but it will happen eventually. Both involved are known to the police, police lawyer John R. Sødahl Furunes tells the newspaper.
