On Saturday, Prince Sverre Magnus was confirmed in his local congregation along with nine other young men.

Saturday was a great day for 14-year-old Prince Sverre Magnus. Only a year after his sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra (16), confirmed it, now it was the prince’s turn.

The castle has announced the gifts the prince received for confirmation:

  • The Storting gave the prince a canoe with oars and a vest.
  • Received a work of art by Morten Andenæs from the government
  • The prince received a work of art from Magne Furuholmen from Asker Township.
  • The Supreme Court gave the prince a surfboard and a book about the Supreme Court.
  • From the Church of Norway, the prince received a Bible in a new 2011 translation.
  • The governors of the counties of Norway gave Prince Sverre Magnus a sleeping bag and a mat.

The confirmation service was held at Asker’s church at 4 pm on Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before four o’clock, the royal family was in church.

Along with nine other confirmations, Prince Sverre Magnus came walking down the aisle of the church.

When the prince stood in front of the altar, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, clearly moved, burst into tears.

Prince Sverre Magnus was born on December 3, 2005 and is third in line to the throne after Crown Prince and Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

– Welcome everyone. We are gathered for a party, for confirmation, said Pastor Karoline Astrup in her introductory speech at the Asker church.

The corona pandemic put a roof over 200 guests at Asker’s church and, like the other confirmations, the prince only had 16 guests present.

Due to the crown situation, only Norwegian guests were present during the confirmation. This means that none of the prince’s foreign royal patrons participated.

The exclusive guest list consisted of members of the royal family, some family members, and some of the prince’s patrons.

Besides the parents, the siblings are Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Marius Borg Høiby with her boyfriend Juliane Snekkestad at church. Also present are the royal couple, Princess Märtha Louise and cousin Leah Isadora Behn.

Additionally, these can also be found on the guest list:

The post-service celebration is kept private.
