Norway fared badly in the new edition of the Nations League with a disappointing 1-2 loss to Austria at Ullevaal on Friday night.

Stabæk captain Hanche-Olsen has had a solid performance in the Elite Series in recent seasons, and is now rewarded with a place on the national team. If the 23-year-old has playing time in Belfast, it will be his debut for the national team.

The cap has so far only represented Norway at the U21 and U16 levels. He played twelve games for Leif Gunnar Smerud’s under-21 team in 2017 and 2018.
