According to VG, the police believe that the crew on board the Fridtjof Nansen must have a work permit to work on the ship that is at the dock.

The ship is located at the Hellesylt pier and is used as accommodation in connection with the filming of the movie “Mission Impossible 7”.

– From now on, the opinion of the police is that the crew must have a permit to work in this activity. Police have not found an exception to the main rule that they must have a work permit, Svein Rike head of the Immigration and Border Control section in the Møre og Romsdal police district tells the newspaper.

The police have not concluded the case, but in the worst case, the Filipino crew can be deported and obtain an entry permit to Norway. Hurtigruten can also be fined.

Hurtigruten herself believes that they are not breaking the law and have had the boat rental approved by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate. Both Fellesforbundet and Sjømannsforbundet have reported Hurtigruten for rapes.

Trade and Industry Minister Iselin Nybø (V) criticizes the use of the ship and has announced a change in the law.

Hurtigruten has yet to comment on the case.
