According to the Oslo police, tonight a “very drunk man” collided with at least 20 cars at Frogner in Oslo.
Tom Hestnes was eating at the Krogh cafe next to the Uranienborg school when the savage skier crossed an intersection and crashed into the pavement on the other side.
Hestnes jumped to his feet and grabbed him by the legs.

– It was obvious to me that it could inflict some damage, so it was probably only instincts that attacked, says Hestnes, who lives in the area, to Dagbladet.

He has no doubt that the episode could have ended really badly.
– It is disturbing and disgusting to think about what could have happened. Just three minutes before, there was a gang of young people there. I could have cut them, Hestnes says.

When the 43-year-old, who often works as a portfolio manager in the financial industry, got on the side of the car, he managed, with just his fists, to break the car window on the driver’s side.
– Yes, it was very special. Either you break your hand or it goes right through you. Again, I just acted on instinct, Hestnes says.
He then grabbed the steering wheel and turned the car sideways and into a car to stop it.
It seemed like the only rational thing to do.

Furthermore, Hestnes tells of how he managed to control the man, who seemed obviously intoxicated.
Soon three more men arrived and, after a fight, managed to get the driver out of the car.
– I got a bad cut to my eye that has swollen, so there will be another trip to the ER tomorrow, says Hestnes.
Dagbladet has access to video footage of how the driver was overpowered and pulled from the car.
Oslo Police Operations Manager Gjermund Stokkli tells Dagbladet that the man in his 50s has been arrested. He must have been very intoxicated.
