BERGEN (E24): Vollvik speaks for the first time after being released. He is accused of repackaging civilian bandages and marking them as surgical.

The case is being updated.

Idar Vollvik has contacted the importer, maintains that they have received a possible incorrect order and have received a credit note.

– Yes, we have had a dialogue and we have received a credit note for the whole party.

– Does this mean that the importer acknowledges that he has made a mistake?

– Yes. No one would have paid me several million crowns if they weren’t sure, so to speak. Nor do I believe that the importer did anything in bad faith, I dare not believe it.

You think there has been a misunderstanding or a mistake with the products imported from the Netherlands. Vollvik further claims that it is “a couple of hundred thousand” bandages that must have been shipped with potentially incorrect labeling.

– Can you say something about who is this importer?

– Nerd.

– Has the money been paid yet?

– I don’t follow that.

– Only we who are on the gallows

Vollvik admits to repackaging a bandage, but not criminal guilt. The reason for this, he explains, is that “everyone” packs a bandage.

– That is, repacking a bandage is not a crime. Pharmacies, chains and everyone does it. There is nothing wrong in it. This is the brand where we have failed.

He goes on to say that they come in boxes of 2000 and are repackaged in smaller packages. He points out that it is the marking of the bandages where he and his company have made a mistake.

– We think we have been one of the best there, he says, and continues:

– But only we are in the gap. It’s not comfortable, but we have the spine to carry it, because we know we only mean well.

– A misunderstanding

It maintains that the misunderstanding concerns a batch purchased by a Norwegian supplier.

– It should have been as strict as we were with Norwegian suppliers when we imported ourselves. I thought that all importers were treated equally strictly, but obviously not, says Vollvik.

– Can you say something about the type of mask you have received?

– We don’t know what we get. We ordered type I, we were billed for type I and we have paid type I. It will be seen when the test is ready. It can be ready in a few days.

Vollvik was arrested Tuesday morning and charged by the police under the Medical Equipment Act. He was released on Wednesday night after being questioned for a long time.

Police have previously confirmed that they suspect Vollvik of having marked and repackaged bandages in Norway. This was confirmed Wednesday afternoon by Vollvik defender Einar Råen.
