On Thursday night, the stage was set for a heated debate on the NRK Debatten. The subject was freedom of expression, the demonstrations organized by Stop the Islamization of Norway (SIAN) and the reactions of the counter-protesters.

One of those who participated in the debate was SIAN leader Lars Thorsen. According to presenter Fredrik Solvang, no one wanted to debate directly with him. Thus, the presenter made a critical interview to Thorsen.

One of SIAN’s demands, which has received the strongest reactions, is that they want to “detain and deport” Muslims who, according to Thorsen, “profess the ideology of Muhammad.”

Host Fredrik Solvang asked Thorsen who he was really referring to and asked him to name concrete examples. Thorsen emphasized that he did not have a list, but mentioned some like the ODM politician Shoaib Sultan.

Shoaib Sultan himself also immediately came out in a Facebook post and explained why he warned Solvang not to address this issue.

The MDG policy in Trondheim, Hilde Opoku, reacted and believes that Sultan was “hung” on the debate.

There are several on social media who have answered the question.
