The leader of the Labor Party, Jonas Gahr Støre, believes that the distance with KrF has become so great that cooperation is not natural.
Støre has previously opened up to hear if KrF decides to reconsider its path choice.
But in an interview in Nationen on Wednesday, the party leader is more lukewarm.
– KrF has chosen side. They are running for elections to a government that depends on the support of the Progress Party, and then they have clarified that cooperation. Knut Arild Hareide took another path and lost. KrF is now a conservative Christian party that is further away from the Labor Party. Therefore, there is no room for anything other than that they are part of a government that we want to replace, says Støre.
KrF’s first MP, Olaug Bollestad, reacts to Støre’s statement.
– It’s incredibly disappointing. I want the Norwegian election campaign to be about political issues, and not about this, he tells Nationen.
– KrF has in no way changed its position or what issues are important to us. We are the same Christian Democratic center party that we have been. The same party that Støre was willing to cooperate with last summer, he emphasizes.
He adds that Støre’s statement makes future collaboration between AP and KrF difficult.
