On Monday night, all emergency services moved to a private address on Holsnøy in Alver municipality, where a man ended up trapped under a car.
The man in his 40s died from the injuries he sustained.
Without tires
According to the police, the accident occurred in connection with him working under the car. The main theory is that the car was standing on a lifting device that failed.
On Tuesday, the police will return to the scene for further investigations.
– We will take a closer look at the support device the car was on. We want to find out why this has progressed, says Glenn Ulrik Våge, a senior police officer at the Nordhordland Sheriff’s Office.
The police consider that everything was a tragic accident.
– All four tires were removed from the car, Våge tells BA.
He doesn’t want to go into detail about what kind of car it is, but he describes it as a heavier passenger car.
Worked under the car
– From what we can see, he has jacked up the car and worked under it, before the car fell over, stated task leader Tom Johannessen after the accident.
The work on the car was carried out outside a private address.
According to the police, it was an acquaintance who arrived at the scene who alerted the police. Then it was 1718.
The emergency services withdrew and, shortly after, the medical personnel declared the man dead on the spot.
The man’s relatives were notified and the municipality’s crisis team was involved.
