On Monday afternoon, all emergency services moved to an address on Holsnøy in Alver municipality, where a man ended up trapped under a car.
The life of the man in his 40s could not be saved.
– He ended up trapped under the car and died from his injuries. The accident likely occurred in connection with the fact that he was working under the car, says operations manager Tom Johannessen at BA police.
The police consider death an accident.
Investigating death
Police don’t want to go into detail about how the accident must have occurred, but say the leading theory is that the car was in a failed lifting device.
– From what we can see, he has jacked up the car and worked under it, before the car fell down, says Johannessen.

Found by an acquaintance
The man’s relatives have been notified, BA is confirmed, the municipality’s crisis team is involved to attend to those affected.
According to the Police, it was an acquaintance of the deceased who alerted the emergency services after finding the man under the car.
– Now we will compare the information we have and ask ourselves more if it is appropriate. An autopsy will also be performed, says the task leader.
