“It is you who have created hatred and division,” the Democratic mayor told the president. early Sunday, after Trump had contacted him through several Twitter messages.

Trump and Wheeler have previously argued vehemently about the presence of federal security forces in Portland.

In a statement released earlier in the day, Trump wrote “LAW AND ORDER!”

Trump has known for a long time that he believes that the riots and demonstrations in the streets of the United States can only be quelled if the authorities put up all their cloths.

American VG teacher: – Polarization permeates the entire society

In his nomination speech at the Republican National Convention on Friday night, he emphasized that the violence takes place primarily in cities ruled by Democrats, and that the United States under rival Joe Biden will mean more of this.

Before the presidential election on Nov. 3, the message from Democrats is the opposite: violence in the country occurs while Trump is president, they note.

– It’s the job of a president to lower the temperature. We are all less confident because Donald Trump cannot do the job of a US president, his presidential candidate Joe Biden says in a statement.

US Secretary of Security Chad Wolf rejects in an interview with CBS that Trump’s Twitter messages are helping to stir the mood in the country.

– Absolutely not. The authorities are not doing their job to protect the inhabitants. In Portland, we’ve seen three months, three months in which individuals were allowed to set fire to public buildings with little or no consequence, he says.

Portland Mayor Wheeler also receives criticism from various local left-wing organizations, writes Reuters. In an open letter they ask him to resign because he has not been able to create peace in the city.

Call on Trump to cancel planned visit to Kenosha

Also in the Wisconsin city of Kenosha, Trump is in contact with local authorities.

The city is the latest in a series of US cities marked by demonstrations against police violence and racial inequality, after police shot 29-year-old Jacob Blake in the back seven times on Sunday a week ago. Blake survived, but according to the family he is paralyzed from the waist down.

In Kenosha too, the protests have taken a fatal turn.

A 17-year-old is charged with murder after two people were shot to death during demonstrations on Tuesday. It is said that he armed himself and left the neighboring state in order to “protect the city” from protesters.

According to the White House, Trump plans to visit Kenosha on Tuesday. Here you will meet with local police officers and assess the damage to burned and looted businesses. It is currently unclear whether he will meet the family of the injured Jacob Blake.

The Democratic Governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, is clear that he does not want a visit from the White House, and in a letter he asks the president to cancel the plans.

“I am concerned that his presence will only delay our work to overcome the divide and move forward together,” he wrote in the letter, reproduced by CNBC.

The White House has yet to comment on Evers’ letter.

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican, for his part, supports Trump.

– When you encourage contempt for the police, you encourage criminals. When you do little or nothing to stop rioting, you foster anarchy. “When crime and lawlessness are encouraged, lives are lost,” he told CNN.
