NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Barrymore is known for a long list of films, including “ET,” “The Wedding Singer,” “Scream,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and “Donnie Darko.” In recent years, he has been seen on the Netflix series “Santa Clarita Diet.”

Despite all the moments in front of the cameras and a well-documented troubled relationship with drugs and alcohol in his youth, there is a wet moment that he still regrets. It happened while taping the talk show “Watch What Happens Live” in 2018. In a new interview with talk show host Andy Cohen, she tells a bit about this.

– I drank too much

– I was on your show and I drank too much. “I never forgave myself, nor will I ever forgive myself,” Barrymore tells Cohen in the interview that is part of her new “Art of the Interview” interview series.

The Hollywood star further explains:

– I’m not a perfect person and I try to tell people. And I’ve had that freedom since I was a kid because it’s all been out in public, says Barrymore.

As a child and young, she had some wild years. As a teenager, she was, among other things, in a rehabilitation clinic for alcohol and drug abuse.

– It was crying for it, or saying: “God, in a way it’s redeeming not to pretend to be perfect.” But I really want to apologize to you because I will never let that happen again. I’m so sorry, says Barrymore.

– Accustomed to drinking excessively

Cohen himself does not appear to have deep scars after the incident. Barrymore is far from the only celebrity to have been visibly intoxicated on the loose talk show.

– I’m used to people getting drunk on my show, so I don’t even have a clear memory of this. But you don’t have to apologize to me for going overboard on my show. Happens. You belong to a big club with people, says Cohen.

The interview with Cohen is a preview of Barrymore’s upcoming talk show “The Drew Barrymore Show,” which opens Sept. 14, People writes.

Other guests include Gayle King, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sean Evans.
