This is confirmed by the club on Sunday morning.
Tottenham confirm that Matt Doherty is ready for the club. He’s from Wolverhampton.
The right-back has signed a four-year contract and will play with number two on his back.
Doherty has played at Wolverhampton for ten years after transferring from the Bohemians. The 28-year-old played against the Wolves from League One to the Premier League and beyond the Europa League play-offs.
He has played more than 300 games for the Wolves.
The 28-year-old played 50 games for the Wolves last season and contributed heavily to both offense and defense. In total, there were seven goals in all competitions.
– I will give absolutely everything I can for this club, says the defense profile.
Doherty will be Tottenham’s third signing this summer. From before, Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and veteran goalkeeper Joe Hart have entered the stadium gates.
Tottenham have already sold right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton in this transfer window, and there is also speculation that Serge Aurier could be dating.
During the last four seasons he has only missed seven league games.
After Wolves returned to the top level in English football in 2018, he has played every game for the club. 15 goals and 15 assists are the result.
