NEW YORK (Dagbladet): The “Black Panther” star died after a four-year battle with bowel cancer, Variety reports.

He never told the public about cancer.

Boseman’s career exploded when he landed the role of the superhero in “Black Panther.” Before that, he played African-American icons Jackie Robinson in the 2013 movie “42” and James Brown in the 2014 movie “Get on Up.”

According to the release, Boseman was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016.

– He died at home with his wife and family by his side, writes the family.

Filmed during cancer treatment

Boseman’s publicist, Nicki Fioravante, told the AP that the actor died at his Los Angeles home with his wife and family.

– Like a true warrior, Chadwick endured it all and brought you many of the movies you love so much. From “Marshall” to “D 5 Bloods,” “August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and many more, they were all filmed during and between numerous operations and chemotherapy, the family writes in their statement.
