The government sets foot for the southern tour this summer, but they say that before June 15 they will consider whether they will travel to other Nordic countries.
– The Foreign Ministry maintains current travel advice that discourages any travel that is not strictly necessary, says Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide at the press conference.
– We are committed to providing the highest predictability possible, but at the same time it is difficult when we are so far from a normal situation.

The Foreign Minister emphasizes that they still consider making exceptions and easing restrictions on the Nordic countries. By June 15, they will consider whether to take inland pleasure trips in the Nordic countries. By June 20, they are considering opening it in some nearby European countries as well.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg says there are four different areas that affect Norwegians’ vacation plans:
– These are the tips we give on domestic travel in Norway, it is the Foreign Travel Advisory Council for traveling abroad, it is the entry ban to Norway for foreigners and quarantine regulations for those who come to Norway from other countries.
Initially, restrictions in all of these areas will continue through August 20, but will consider the changes twice this summer.
Consider opening for leisure travel
– We are now considering opening business trips to the entire Nordic region starting June 1. Therefore, today’s quarantine rule on quarantine for ten days will be replaced by a self-assessment of whether one has symptoms, according to advice from the Health Directorate and the FHI, says Justice Minister Monica Mæland, and adds:
– We are considering opening for leisure travelers from the Nordic countries, that evaluation should be ready from June 15. We are also considering opening up to other nearby European countries until July 20.

The Prime Minister says that they would like to have common opening rules for our neighboring countries.

No warranty
He also notes that they will constantly consider re-tightening when necessary:
– With increased activity, the infection may increase. We have used it in all the steps we have taken. In its most recent pandemic risk assessment, FHI wrote that the demand to avoid traveling in Norway is no longer necessary, and that quarantine should be considered when traveling abroad to certain countries with good control of the epidemic.
The only travel measure the government provided at the time was that health personnel on May 21 are no longer prohibited from traveling abroad.
