A man with an ax in his hand is seen in the center of Oslo.
“There is a witness who contacted a police patrol in the Gunerius area at 17.23 who had observed a man walking with an ax in his hand on an open street,” operations manager Gjermund Stokkli told Nettavisen.
– Then there is a police patrol that sees him and then runs in the direction of Oslo Spectrum.
The police have not yet found him or the ax. It is not clear if anyone has been directly threatened by man. No injuries were reported.
The police have many patrols around Gunerius and Oslo S in connection with the incident.
– There are still actions in progress. Of course, we are serious about walking with an ax in the center of Oslo. It creates fear and is dangerous, says Stokkli.
On Twitter, the police give a description of the man. He has dark curly hair, a shiny dark bubble jacket, he has dark skin and he has an ax in his hand, they write.
Police reported the incident on Twitter at 5:32 p.m. They announce at 18.03 that they are still looking for the man.
