Family man Alexander Heggland died of coronavirus this weekend after several weeks of intensive care at Haukeland Hospital.

By 2130 on Tuesday, over a million crowns had been collected for its survivors.

Dad at six

Alexander Heggland and his wife Heidi have four children together. In addition, they have two adoptive children. The children are between 4 and 22 years old, and three of them suffer from a serious muscular disease that makes them partially dependent on a wheelchair.

Alexander is described as a kind and caring father who dealt with a busy everyday life with calm and a sparkle in his eyes. The 41-year-old man was infected with covid-19 in early March. He quickly had trouble breathing and was put on a respirator. On Friday he died.

Touched by support

The fundraising campaign was started by Linda Helen Lundekvam, a friend of the family.

– We expect NOK 20,000. We got it after 15 minutes. I am absolutely overwhelmed and moved by all this support, she told BA on Monday.
