The actress, known for “Seinfeld”, “King of Queens” and “Hairspray”, died on Monday morning.
Jerry Stiller, also known as “Hairspray”, turned 92. Report variety.
The son of Stiller movie star Ben Stiller (54) confirms the transmission of a message on Twitter:
«I am sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away for natural reasons.“, Write, and add:
«He was a wonderful father and grandfather and Anne’s most devoted husband for 62 years. We will miss him very much. I love you dad“
Jerry Stiller became a widower in 2015 when actress Anne Meara’s wife of 85 years died.
The two played against each other in a series of theatrical shows on Broadway, and later in several television series, including The Ed Sullivan Show.
Stiller and Meara were also the parents of actor Amy Stiller (58).
Viewers remember Jerry Stiller specifically for the role of Frank Constance in “Seinfeld”, and “The King of Queens”, where he played the role of Arthur Spooner, the father of Leah Remini’s character. In the latter, his wife Anne Meara also had a guest role.
Jerry Stiller also appeared in the movie comedy “Zoolander”, under the son of Ben Stiller. There father and son played against each other.
The movie audience also knows Jerry Stiller from both “Hairspray” movies.
