Previously, only the bottom six teams in the Premier League opposed plans to restart on neutral ground. Now two new clubs are negative.

Earlier, the British media wrote that 14 of the 20 Premier League clubs should be positive about the plan to start again, and that only the bottom six teams at the table are allegedly against the plan for matches on neutral ground.

The lower layers may now be compatible with two new layers.

“Restarting the project”

The Premier League’s plans, called “Project Restart,” are to play the remaining 92 games of the 2019/20 season for empty spots on eight to ten different neutral courts. On Monday, the clubs will have another meeting to discuss the resumption of the season.

The Premier League requires the support of two-thirds of the clubs (14 clubs) to make rule changes.

Neutral paths

The proposal to bet on neutral pitches will not be voted on during Monday’s meeting, but the eight clubs allegedly opposed to the “Restart Project” may vote against FIFA’s proposal to extend player contracts until 30 September. June as a protest vote.
