An Unholy Alliance – Leader

The KrF was able to take advantage of it as a great victory when the party in the Granavolden Declaration received veto rights on all issues related to the Biotechnology Law. The party used the veto, among other things, to stop proposals to allow the donation of eggs.

Initially, the majority of the government was prepared to open it.

When Frp resigned from the government in January, the party made it clear that it would no longer feel compelled by the government’s declaration. In this way, Frp could be released in the Biotechnology Law without being put into practice by a KrF veto. KrF noted previous promises not to touch the law, but to no avail.

Frp is not a party that has trouble forgetting promises. The party is happy to sleep with political opponents if necessary to achieve what they want.

On Thursday, an impious alliance of Frp, Ap and SV presented at the Storting the details of the 2020 “Biotechnology Settlement” agreement. There is no real agreement as it comprises only three parties with a scant majority in the Storting.

In the agreement, the three parties propose, among other things, egg donation, assisted fertilization and early ultrasound.

All parties except Sp and KrF must allow egg donation. Assisted fertilization is widely accepted. Early ultrasound believes that most are good for both mother and child.

Since the Biotechnology Law went into effect in 2004, the law has been problematic and challenging. In particular, SV has had many hard discussions about what the correct policy is.

It wasn’t until Friday of last week that the party told them what had happened. Nor has it been easy for Ap to accept changing the biotechnology law. There are many at the party who have doubted his views.

SV and Ap naturally belong together in a discussion about biotechnology law and the need to change it.

Frp does not belong to the company of SV and Ap. In value matters, Frp is as far to the right of SV and Ap as possible. Therefore, it is politically incorrect to make an “agreement” with Frp to change the biotechnology law.
