The co-inhabitant was sent on a bogus mission

Benjamin Latir Fye and Eline Wikestad Kristiansen have been together for several years.

Both work in the ambulance service. This is where they met a few years ago. And when Benjamin was free, it felt natural to do it in a work context.

– He wanted to do the courtship online with our work, since it was where we met, he tells TV 2.

It was Fredriksstad Blad who first mentioned the case (the case is behind the pay wall).

Scheduled for one month

Benjamin says he planned the marriage for about a month.

Together with the communications center in the ambulance service, AMK, its operations manager and Eline’s partner, established a plan on how everything would happen.

– We start a fictional task. Before Eline went to work, I met a man who was going to pick up some old windows behind the house for her. When he was at work, AMK sent him a message about an injured person.
his own home address, he explains.

Eline and her partner Stian Glomstad Pendrup commented. Gloves on her hands and ready to face the injured person, Eline walked around the corner of the house to a great surprise.

– He had taken out red and pink roses, so when he saw me he ended up crying. It wasn’t entirely expected, so it was a pleasant surprise, he says.

Although the marriage was a surprise, Benjamin accepted.

There were several who witnessed the romantic scene. Both Eline’s partner and her parents.

– They were standing on a balcony and watching.

When Eline’s mother was diagnosed with incurable cancer in January, Benjamin wanted her to see her daughter marry.

– That’s one of the reasons why it happened now. It was a bit on the cards, he explains.

Due to the crown situation, it is a little more difficult to carry out the wedding the way they want, but the couple is open to more solutions.

– If we received it in August, we would have been delighted. If not, we should do it with the closest family, but August is the goal, he says.

After a day of engagement, the couple has already received requests from people who want to play at their wedding.

Living separately

Since they both have a socially critical job and Eline’s mother is in the risk group, the couple has been seen living a little apart.

– Due to the work, we had to protect ourselves. So Eline has been on sick leave and lives at home with her parents while I have been working.

Benjamin says it has been a lot of extra time for everything to work, but thanks to Eline, everyday life has become a little easier.

– Among other things, he gave me pizza out the window. She is a good person.
