Little Richard turned 87. It was the American music magazine Rolling Stone that first reported the death.
Richard Wayne Penniman spent his entire artistic life under the name Little Richard. He was born in Macon, Georgia on December 5, 1932 and received his nickname at age 15.
He made his great musical breakthrough in 1956 with “Tutti Frutti”. Later came several hits from the man with a very special and energetic style. It became an inspiration for a whole generation of musicians.
