Public spending, OFS | The OFS offer has been cut. Hanne (40) still has to pay NOK 3,000 a month: – I’m stuck

The OFS 8-year supply has been dramatically reduced. But the municipality rejects that Hanne Formo (40) discards the place.

– I’m totally locked up, says Hanne, who has an 8-year-old boy going to the OFS.

Since the coronavirus has come back on its head, both kindergartens and schools have been closed. But as it was opened, the OFS in Ås municipality was partially closed.

There is no offer in the morning or afternoon, and residents are advised not to use it. Nor is it food service.

– Refuses to meet us in the middle

Hanne Formo (40) has an 8-year-old boy who goes to the OFS and thought about using the scheme normally. But after the message from the municipality to preferably keep the children home, she did exactly that.

– Despite this, they take a full stay payment. Many people use the OFS only in the morning and afternoon, and they don’t have any offers now, but they still have to pay.

But when Formo contacted the municipality to cancel the place, they told him that he had to do this before March 1.

I’m locked. I can cancel the place, but I still have to pay. After all, he did not know that there would be a crown outbreak before March 1, he says wonderfully to the practice of the municipality.

– The municipality only refers to formalities and regulations. To that I am responding. They are not interested in finding a simple solution, like a reduced payment. For me, this means that there are almost NOK 10,000 as of June that I spend in a place I can’t use, Formo tells Nettavisen.

When asked why the municipality refuses to fire the place, they refer to the regulations for the municipality’s OFS scheme.

I have to hit

Nettavisen contacted Mayor Ola Nordal (Ap) in the municipality of Ås. It indicates that citizens are welcome to use the OFS offer.

But it is with very reduced opening hours and without food service.

– Regarding the start-up after closing, the municipality requested that a parent who has the opportunity to do so be able to reduce the length of stay, but I am very pleased that the OFS has reopened, Nordal tells Nettavisen.

The mayor refers to the articles on the municipality’s website. It seems that the hours of operation at SFO have been reduced to 08:00 – 16:00 and that there is no food service.

But the “regular payment” applies.

Formo is disappointed with the rapporteur’s response.

– I feel that they are doing this to try to rectify the municipal economy, which is not very good. But they don’t know people in between. They want us to contribute in the early morning, which we are trying to do to keep the children at home, but even so the municipality should take so much money, it will be completely wrong, she says.
