HOLMLIA (VG) Soccer in Holmlia starts again this week. Culture Minister Abid Raja (V) believes it is important. – Many things can go wrong if they don’t start again, he says.

Holmlia, in the southeast of Oslo, is known as the residential area that produces the best soccer players in a row.

– I think it is really good that the sport begins. We know that many children and young people need to get away from home, not only to get fit, but also need a break from their parents. And they need to see other children and stay active, says the Minister of Culture, with sports in his portfolio.

– In Holmlia a great job is being done to provide children and young people in an organized way. We know the alternative: many things can go wrong. When the sport has made such a fantastic effort, it is a shame that the crown destroys good structure, continues Abid Raja.

– How important is it that children and young people return to sports?

– It can be of decisive importance for the growing conditions of children even more. We know that if they fall out of the sport, they may end up tilted. The fact that we are starting now can be crucial for the future of children, says the Minister of Culture.

He says that sport “gives good life habits” and believes that children and parents are poorly trained to get so close for a long time:

– Parents and children are not trained to face each other for so long. People say “we have two months of summer vacation.” Yes, but they often go on vacation, mom and dad are part of the job and children do a lot of things outside the home.

Currently, it is allowed to train five pieces at the same time.

– I hope there will be more training during the summer and that we can have a relatively normal children’s sport, at least outdoors, not indoors and not with spectators.

Oslo football director Kari Hove says she expects the season to start on June 15.

– This is the plan. We have 30,000 games in one season, and if we can start on June 15, we will have at least half of the season.

– How should training be organized now?

– Max. 32 players on the field, which is divided into eight fields. There must be four children and a coach / parent. We start now with 13 years and over. Organizing this with young people is easier than younger ones.

– What are the rules like?

– Keep your distance, do not weigh, do not take the ball with your hands … Only the goalkeepers can take the ball in their hands.

Holmlia CEO Aram Meradi hopes to start:

– The need is great. Young people need the security and stability that football provides. They need the secure frames. Our young people need something stable around them.

– Does football matter a lot here in Holmlia?

– Soccer means a lot to everyone, not only here in Holmlia, but here it is great. I’m afraid they’ll quit the sport if we don’t start again.

– Is integration also important?

– Yes, we are a club that not only thinks about soccer, but also about how to get good citizens of the community out of soccer.
