The case is being updated.
Hans Christian Holte becomes new chief of navigation. This is stated in a government statement on Friday.
– I want to work for a Hub that, when meeting its users, is humble, open and accommodating. The centers are in a critical phase with many challenges, and I would like to help solve those challenges in the best possible way, says Holte.
He will take office in August, replacing Sigrun Vågeng, who in January declared he would resign. The position is a 6-year annual objective with the possibility of a term extension.
– As a tax director, Hans Christian Holte has strong experience in leading a large national agency with an important social mission. I am convinced that he is the right person to lead the NAV at a demanding time, says Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Torbjørn Røe Isaksen in the press release.
Eleven applicants
He was among the eleven who had applied for the position of Director of Nav.
Holte has led the Tax Administration since August 1, 2013 and has a long career in public administration. Last fall, he was re-elected to the position of Director of Taxation for a new six-year term.
Applicants included Tor Erik Tobiassen, Nav case manager Helle Henriksen-Tenningås, former section manager for Nav Søndre Nordstrand in Oslo and assistant professor Åke Elden at the University of Southern Norway.
A total of eight men and three women had applied for the position.
