The sharp increase in daily infection, 549 more than the day before and 503 more than the same day last week, makes Monday the worst since January 7. The summary of the National Institute of Public Health shows that 735 new cases were registered at that time. The peak was on January 4 with 936.
137 new corona cases in Oslo
On Monday, 137 new corona infections were recorded in Oslo. That’s 22 more than Sunday, but 27 less than last week’s average. The Stovner district has the highest infection pressure. There are currently 480 infections per 100,000 inhabitants on average in the last two weeks.
Alna district is second with 456 and Grorud is third with 455 infections per 100,000. We found the lowest infection pressure in Ullern and Nordre Aker.
A total of 20,267 citizens of Oslo have been registered as infected since March last year. Approximately a quarter of the cases, approximately 4,850, are registered in the age group of 20 to 29 years. People under the age of 30 represent 43 percent of the cases of infection in the capital.
Growing trend
In the last seven days, 2,977 new cases of infection have been registered in Norway and 3.8 million coronary tests have been carried out in the country so far.
There is typically a one to two day lag on the test product, with fewer reporting infected on weekends than on weekdays.
In February, a total of 8,409 infections were recorded in Norway. This is a decrease from January, when 13,145 cases were reported. Since mid-January, the trend for infection has been flat or declining, but is now increasing again, according to VG’s summary.
The most contagious months during the pandemic so far are November and December with 15,482 and 13,520 new cases, respectively.
More hospitalized and more vaccinated
A total of 71,735 are registered as coronary heart disease in this country.
102 corona patients were hospitalized on Monday. There were seven more than the day before.
A total of 623 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March last year, preliminary figures show. It is not always possible to establish whether patients have died from or from COVID-19.
64.0 percent of all deaths had reached the age of 80. In the age group under 50 years, nine deaths have been reported in Norway.
328,073 people have received the first dose of the coronary vaccine and 161,568 people have received the second dose.
