– The deceased man was found on the ground not far from Schultzhytta, says task leader Roger Gustafson.

Many participated in the search

Police received a missing person report on 21.17 Thursday night. Both the hunter’s car and bicycle are located. It is said that he parked the car at a barrier and traveled one more distance. The search was carried out between the place where the bicycle was found and Schultzhytta.

– The man went hunting at 09:00 on Thursday, says operations manager Stig Roger Olsen at NRK police on Friday morning.

The missing person’s bicycle was found in a seat called Gråsteinvollen, and the search is carried out in the Øverdalen area towards Schultzhytta in Selbu. Gråsteinsvollen is located approx. seven kilometers as the crow flies from Schultzhytta.

According to the police, the man has hunted in this area before and should be fairly well known.

Intensified

Both the Red Cross, Norwegian rescue dogs, Norwegian People’s Aid and the fire service have assisted the police in the search. About 40 people are participating in the search on Friday morning.

Schulzhytta is a serviced tourist hut in Skarvan and Roltdalen National Park, which is owned by the Trondhjem Tourism Association.

The cottage is located above the hamlet Stormoen with views of the valley and the Fongen massif. The area is made up of forests and high mountain terrain.

Search Operation in Oppdal

Early on Friday morning, a search operation was also launched for a missing hunter in Oppdal.

The man last had contact with his family at 7:50 p.m. Thursday. – The hunter was reported missing in an area by Spenbekktjønna, in Vinstradalen, says operations manager Stig Roger Olsen in the NRK police.

The man had shot a reindeer in this area and had an agreement with some relatives to drive the animal away. But he did not show up at the agreed place.

– This search operation started at 03:30, reports Olsen.

At hour 07, it was clear that the man was found safe and sound by the Air Ambulance, which was put in search early Friday morning.
