On Monday morning, a total of 1,300 people are under quarantine in Fredrikstad. In Sarpsborg Municipality, around 1,200 are still under quarantine.
This is what the municipal chief doctor in Fredrikstad Guro Steine Letting reports to VG.
– 1,000 of them are affiliated with schools and kindergartens, he says.
On Saturday, the number was 600.
Steine Letting claims that several will be quarantined on Tuesday.
In Fredrikstad, 139 cases of infection have been registered in the last week. On Sunday, five new cases of corona were registered in the municipality, a decrease compared to the previous days, according to VG figures.

Sarpsborg Municipality Mayor Sindre Evje Martinsen (Labor Party) has previously told VG that they have control over the outbreak.
He has also said that it is not relevant to close the local community.
– It is a disturbing development, but as long as our infection trackers can find the route of infection and it is within an environment, we can maintain a certain overview. It is important, it means that we do not get out of control, said Evje.
It emphasizes that they make continuous evaluations of any measure in the municipality and follow national advice and recommendations.

The education association will close schools
On Sunday, it became clear that 320 students from Grålum ungdomsskole in Sarpsborg must have a homeschool before 9/11.
– This is mainly due to the fact that teachers are in quarantine and we have so few left that the best offer we can offer is home tuition, education director Erik Bråthen in Sarpsborg municipality told VG.
The Education Association will close all schools in Sarpsborg after the infection develops in the area.
– In the prevailing circumstances with the spread of the infection in Sarpsborg, we recommend closing all schools until we have full control of the situation, says Knut Olav Farbrot, leader of the Education Association in Sarpsborg, to Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad.
Farbrot upholds the precautionary principle and is concerned about the health of both employees and students.
– We cannot play with the health of children, teachers and school leaders. The same should apply to kindergartens if they experience a situation similar to school, he says.
