It has been called the “Golden Parade of the Pharaohs”.

22 former rulers, 18 men and 4 women, will move from the iconic Egyptian Museum to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

Most of the mummies have been on display in the Egyptian Museum for more than 100 years.

The seven-kilometer journey will pass through the streets of Cairo. Each of the pharaohs will be transported on their own specially designed dolly. These will be decorated in golden color.

The order is determined according to the principle of seniority: oldest first.

The first to come out will be Seqenenre Tao II, “the mighty one”, who ruled southern Egypt around 1600 BC. C. Ramses IX, who ruled from 1129 until his death in 1111 BC. C., will come to an end.

The platforms will also have shock absorbers so that the journey through the streets of Cairo does not unnecessarily disturb the rest of the pharaohs.
