The municipality is concerned about a more widespread infection in the population.
This is what the municipality affirms at a press conference.
– Most of those who have registered infected since yesterday are close contacts with others previously infected, says Councilor Roger Valhammer.
NHH claims that none of the newly infected came from there. Yesterday they had 42 new infected.
– This is a lower infection rate than yesterday, so it’s good. It is still a high number. And tracking the infection shows that there is a much clearer overall infection than we’ve seen before, says health advisor Beate Husa.
And it is one thing if there are only cases that can be traced back to the infected municipality that you already know. Something else is involved when cases of an unknown source of infection appear.
– The worrying thing is that the infection has spread in a more generalized way, points out the health council.
The outbreak in Bergen is one of the largest Norway has seen since the coronavirus arrived.
